The E-vita OPEN PLUS hybrid stent graft system allows a one-stage treatment of complex thoracic aortic diseases through the combination of surgical and endovascular treatment.
The E-vita OPEN PLUS is ideal when treating the surgically non-accessible descending part of the Thoracic Aorta.
The woven prosthetic component allows a safe surgical fixation and serves as a connection (vascular adaptor) for the classic vascular reconstruction of the aortic arch.
The following indications can be treated in a one-step procedure with The E-vita OPEN PLUS: Acute Aortic Dissection Stanford type A, Complex Dissection of the Aorta Stanford type B, Long-range Aortic Aneurysms, Chronic long-range Dissection of the Aorta.
Proven Clinical and Economical Evidence
To evaluate the efficacy and durability of this treatment concept, the International E-vita Open Registry was initiated in 2008. 416 patients from 10 European centres were recruited. Findings from the EOR demonstrate the importance of the registry as a tool for developing guidelines and frameworks in the management of this complex pathology.
Available evidence from The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence U.K.
Suggests that the E-vita Open Plus for treating complex Aneurysms and Dissections of the Thoracic Aorta could remove the need for a second procedure and the associated risk of serious complications. The E-vita Open Plus is estimated to generate substantial cost savings compared with the current two-stage repair from about 2 years after the procedure.
