CARDIOXYL® Suture is a braided, surgical suture composed of poly (ethylene terephthalate) braid coated with polysiloxane (silicone). The poly (ethylene terephthalate) braid is a multifilament, nonabsorbable, sterile, flexible thread prepared from fibres of high molecular weight, long-chain, linear polyesters having recurrent aromatic rings as an integral component and is indicated for use in soft tissue approximation.
CARDIOXYL® Suture is braided for enhanced tensile strength and optimal security of the suture, whilst the silicone coating provides simplified knot adjustability and positioning, rapid and secure run down of the prosthetic valve.
CARDIOXYL® Suture is manufactured for use in cardiovascular surgery: mechanical or biological valve placement, ring placement, EEC canulae securement and patch implantation.
